Brief Description
The sanctuary is located outside the town, amid a beautiful setting on the banks of the river Zapatón with rich wildlife and typically Mediterranean vegetation.
With clearly popular architecture, it is built in concrete with a perfectly whitewashed nave divided into five sections by arches that support a low barrel vault.
It has two entrances, one is situated at the main facade with semicircular archway and granite masonry, and the other is very simple, and located on the Epistle Side. This side is attached to the main body of the building with an atrium of several volumes, among which are railings and a brick enclosure.
Two processions take place here, the first on Easter Sunday, in honor of the Virgen de la Rivera, adored by all the local population, and the second is on May 15, the feast for San Isidro Labrador.
