This is a very pleasant area alongside the waters of the river Gevora, on the outskirts of the town, stands the sanctuary building housing the patron of Albuquerque, the popular image of devotion.
The building was built between the XVII and XVIII centuries, made of stone and is of considerable proportions. The interior and exterior walls whitewashed. The nave of the church, on the sides and in the gable of the feet, is surrounded by a gallery with low arches, covered in sections with barrel vaults and lunettes. The porch has a roof with simple, gothic ornamentation.
The interior space is quite wide, with reasonably high barrel vaults; the nave is wide and well developed. The nave is divided into four sections covered by a barrel vault with lunettes, the chapel site is closed off by semicircular dome of.
Within the chapel stands a splendid baroque altarpiece. At the center of the altar, behind a glass case, is the Virgen of Carion; a polychrome wood carving in the Renaissance style. Behind the main altar is the chapel of the Virgin, which consists of two rooms, the first smaller and the second, with a lantern and false dome which is where the image of the patron is exhibited.
