The Church of San Sebastián martyr, the most outstanding architectural element of Herrera de Alcántara, is of Baroque style and a joint with clock, 19th century tower, built in brick and located in the same square where the temple is located. The remains of an old fortress that existed in the village, destroyed in the wars with Portugal were probably used in its construction. It receives its name from the imploraciones of the Bishop of Coria to this Saint on one of the journeys of return of roma, to be in the middle of a storm.
Account with an anonymous altarpiece, an Alabaster sculpture depicting the Holy Trinity, currently exhibited at the provincial Museum, and an articulated Christ of the s. XIX, object of their descent and their subsequent burial ceremony on good Friday.
