Brief Description

The Museum is located at the Shrine of Our Lady of Sorrows, in a spectacular natural setting.

Gumiel Lazarus, born in Villalengua (Zaragoza), sculptor specializing in carving religious icons, lived in the Castle of La Codosera from 1945 until his death in 1977. It was a very involved with the locality to which yielded several jobs as the size of the Sacred Heart or the image of the Virgin of Sorrows. He founded school of religious art workshop for youth and his remains are inside the Shrine of Chandavila.

In his memory, he has opened an exhibition-tribute located in a room adjacent to the sanctuary, in a one-story building, which stands on the left of the church. The exhibition hall contains twelve polychrome wooden images of 170 cm. and 160 cm. Other items of interest are exposed: two sketches drawn in charcoal on paper 4 meters long and 2 meters wide, being one of them The Crucifixion and the second The Lord in the Sepulchre or sketch drawn on paper and colored inks corresponding to the great Custody, located in the church of La Concepción in Madrid and was performed with 33 kg of silver, half gold, platinum 200g, 800 and 1500 bright colored stones
