It is made up of two completely different structures. The exterior, situated just opposite the church of San Mateo, consists of a prominent tower with a square ledge. The coat of arms of Don Alonso Sánchez was conserved on the outer arc, along with an inscription in Old Portuguese indicating the beginning of the construction in 1276. It now resides in the Archaeological Museum of Badajoz.
The interior is a part of the medieval quarter and is completely whitewashed. It forms part of an open chapel with a terrace and is surmounted by a bell tower of more recent construction.
